Escorted Tour Bordeaux to Pays Basque
This 6-day private escorted tour starts from Bordeaux, we can add also your extra night from Paris and train if you wish. From the vineyards of Bordeaux you will discover going South, the whole Atlantic coast going up to Saint jean de LUZ near SPAIN.
Day 1: Bordeaux
 VIP welcome upon arrival in Bordeaux, lunch in Bordeaux, city tour of the town.
Transfer to your hotel 4-star " les sources de Caudalie" in the middle of the vineyards of the famous Château Smith Haut laffitte (Graves) , we will visit the castle and the cellars, tastings.
Check into your room, evening & dinner.
Les "Sources de caudalie" is a very famous SPA hotel , located in the vineyards of Graves, using
VINOTHERAPY (SPA treatments based on wine). If you are interested in those treatments for a half day or
a full day we could add it to your package. You can also buy the treatments "à la carte" if you don't have too much time and wish to try!
Four treatments will be available in large individual booths made of stone and wood. The spa overlooks the vines of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. Treatments include baths, massages, water jet showers, and wraps.
During your "Discovery Day", you will also have unlimited access to our spa bath with JetStream, Turkish bath, and rest areas. A free 100% organic red vine leaf tea of the day will also be provided.
Day 2: Bordeaux to Medoc
After breakfast, your driver guide will take you to the Medoc region, following the famous "road of the wines".
First stop at the Château Beychevelle, visit & tastings, lunch at the famous Relais et Château "Cordeillan-Bages".
After lunch we will visit the Château Lynch Bages, tastings for 1h 30 and evaluation of wine at the Ecole du Bordeaux.
Visit the Château Mouton Rotschild, visit of cellars, tastings and visit of the museum.
Return to your hotel in Bordeaux, dinner included.
Day 3: Bordeaux to Saint Emilion
Early departure, you will check out your hotel in Bordeaux after breakfast, then the driver guide will take you to the Saint Emilion vineyards. Visit of the Château Franc Mayne, tastings.
Lunch in Saint Emilion.
Guided tour of the city, and rerun to Bordeaux.
Check in to your hotel in Bordeaux.
Day 4: Bordeaux to Arcahon / the beaches of Les landes to Biarritz
Depart from Bordeaux ealy after breakfast.
Drive to Arcachon, on the gulf of Atlantic. Arcachon is famous for its oysters, the famous dune of PILAT (107 meters tall)
You will visit the harbour, city tour of the town, visit at a Oysters Ostreiculteur, go up on the famous Sand DUNE of Pilat, Lunch on the beach.
City tour, to see the famous houses on pilotis of "the island of the birds"
Departure then for Biarritz, city tour of Biarritz.
Dinner & room at the Hotel du palais, 4 star.
In 1854 the Emperor Napoleon III built a summer palace, La Villa Eugénie, by the ocean-side in Biarritz for his wife, the Empress Eugénie. For sixteen years, excepting 1860 and 1869, the imperial couple never missed a season in Biarritz and the world's aristocracy followed. The Villa Eugénie is now the Hotel du Palais, an address of undeniable prestige, one of the last great palaces of international renown.
The Hotel du Palais with 134 air-conditioned rooms and 22 suites has three restaurants, "La Rotonde" overlooking the Atlantic ocean, "La Villa Eugénie" for a quiet dinner and "L'Hippocampe" for lunch by the swimming pool.
Day 5: Biarritz to Saint Jean de LUZ (Pay basque)
After breakfast departure for Saint jean de luz, that charming and beautiful village in Pays Basque, near Spain. A beautiful seaside resort and active fishing port not far from the Spanish border, Saint Jean de Luz is a lively and cosmopolitan town. The town center of St Jean de Luz has a medieval background, with no doubt, a great deal of influence in the past from Spain and the Moors, and with this mixture of architecture, old World charm, old buildings, fishing port and narrow lanes, there is an atmosphere (like a good football match or a rugby International), an ambience, even if the town is full of tourists of all nationalities, every one gets along, especially at the time of the jazz fete in the streets. One expects D'Artagnan, Don Quixote or Robin Hood to be sitting at the next table, as we revisit the middle ages. You will drive along the coast, looking at the Atlantic coast.
Lunch in a traditional restaurant ( tapas style) , visit of Ciboure.
Return to Biarritz driving through other small Basque villages, in the countryside.
Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, dinner included.
Day 6: Biarritz to Bordeaux
Transfer from Biarritz directly to Bordeaux in the morning directly to your hotel in Bordeaux or airport or train station.
